Summer Junior Historian Program

St. Paul's Church National Historic Site is now accepting applications for the summer Junior Historian program. The program introduces students to historical interpretation, including historical knowledge, public speaking skills, logistics, exhibitions, artifacts and clothing. The program culminates with the students leading tours of a select piece of the site's history for family and friends. Certificates are presented to the Junior Historian graduates. The program meets weekly in July, Monday or Thursday mornings, 10 AM to 11:30 AM. There is no charge. This summer marks the ninth year of this educational program. Spring Luncheon and Fashion Presentation by Neiman Marcus Westchester

Jay Heritage Center's Spring Luncheon and Fashion Presentation by Neiman Marcus returns to the elegant waterfront setting of American Yacht Club. This harbinger of warmer weather is usually a sell-out. Spring hats are encouraged! Proceeds benefit JHC's signature performances and educational programs in American History, Architecture, Social Justice and Environmental Stewardship for adults and children. Ossining Remembered: A Tour of Five Historical Homes

Tour some of Ossining's most architecturally and historically significant homes, including a 17th century farmhouse, an 18th century estate, two river-view 19th century mansions and a silent film star's turn-of-the-20th century cottage. Tickets are $35 and benefit the Ossining Historical Society Museum. Advance registration with payment is required. Larchmont Historical Society's Annual House Tour

Tour three fantastic Manor homes as well as witness the unveiling of the newly restored Engine One, the 1922 American LaFrance fire engine that served Larchmont until 1948. Returning to Larchmont after a three year restoration, Engine One gleams in its original colors of white with red trim and red wheels, refurbished engine and radiator panels. Tickets are $45/person; $35 for Larchmont HIstorical Society members, and available online, by mail, and on the day of the tour at 14 Pryer Lane.

Tour of Usonia, Mount Pleasant

Join the Westchester County Historical Society for a tour of Usonia, the most fully realized example of a Frank Lloyd Wright Community. Roland Reisley, one of Usonia's founders and owner of a Wright-designed home, will be our tour guide. The tour will finish at Reisley's home for refreshments. Somers Confederates: James Wright and His Nephews

The Village of Sing Sing During the Civil War

150 Years Ago, A Remembrance of the Village of Sing Sing During the Civil War. This program reflects on one of the most important events in our nation's history, and how it played out in a small village. Including a flag raising ceremony, reenactors performing 19th century chores and jobs, a "Military Recruitment Camp," and tours of the Old Methodist Campground Cottages. The program will conclude with a taps ceremony, a musical concert and ball, reading of a Civil War letter and a benediction. Free.

John Jay's Manhattan
