REQUEST FOR GENEALOGICAL/CENSUS SEARCH BY MAIL
Thank you for your inquiry. The Westchester County Historical Society encourages patrons to visit the reading room to conduct research. Currently our reading room is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The WCHS library maintains a large collection of resources for research on Westchester families. A partial list of these includes:

| 6. Pelletreau's Early Wills of Westchester (1664 - 1784) and New York Historical Society "Abstract of Wills" (1665 - 1800) |

| 8. Periodical Index (WCHS holdings - includes NYG&B Record, Connecticut Ancestry, TAG, local Westchester periodicals) |

Most of these sources can be searched for you for a fee of $40 per hour (one-hour minimum). WCHS Members receive a 10% discount, so the fee for Members is $36 per hour. The Federal censuses for Westchester, 1850-1930, Orphanage records, County almshouse records, and church records are not indexed, so the charge for searching them is $50 per hour ($45 for Members).
If you would like us to conduct either the general or a $50/hour search, please fill out the information on the attached sheet and return it to us. Please include what information you have, what sources you have checked, and what information you are searching for, to help us know how to best help you..
Regardless of whether or not information is found, you will receive a report.Photocopies of relevvant material will be made if the original is in suitable condition.
