The Biography Index includes names from the published sources listed below. It also includes names in the biography section of the Vertical Files. Titles marked with an asterisk are in the bookshelves in the Reading Room. The others must be requested from the WCHS Stacks.

Photocopies can be requested by emailing us or by mailing in a downloadable form. The charge is $2.50 plus $.50 per page, which includes handling and postage costs. Please note that the Vertical Files are largely comprised of photocopies of newspaper clippings, including obituaries, engagement and marriage notices, military service, etc. Some are extensive and informative, while others are brief and provide only a little information. "Port." (i.e. portraits) may vary greatly in quality, and are not of good quality in Vertical Files.
